Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C (“Fuller’s” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Emeny, currently Group Managing Director, as Chief Executive with effect from the 1st July 2013.

Simon, (aged 47), joined Fuller’s in 1996. With an initial brief to run the Company’s Managed Pubs, Simon joined the main Board in 1998 and was then promoted to Managing Director of Fuller’s Inns in 2006. He subsequently became Group Managing Director in 2010.

Prior to this, Simon was previously at Bass PLC, joining as a graduate trainee in 1987. During his nine year tenure with that business, he held a number of senior operational and management positions culminating in the role of Strategic Planning Manager in 1995.

Simon is also a Non-Executive Director of Dunelm Plc, the specialist homeware retailer.

This is the next stage in the evolution of the Company’s succession plan and Michael Turner, who became Managing Director in 1992, Chief Executive in 2002 and Executive Chairman in 2007 will continue as Chairman of the Group in a Non-Executive capacity.

Chairman, Michael Turner, said:

“Simon’s record of success has been outstanding. He has delivered a first class performance during his time with Fuller’s and I know he is the right person to lead the Company on to the next step in its long-term development as a leader in its field.”

Simon Emeny said:

“I feel proud to be appointed Chief Executive of a Company based on strong values, quality, and long term vision. I would like to thank Michael for his inspirational leadership and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him in the future.”
